Pricing · Volume Rate Card · 2025

Pricing built for publishers who measure comments in the millions.

Four tiers, each engineered for a specific publishing volume — from independent newsrooms to networks topping fifty million monthly comments. No per-seat surprises, no fine-print overages, no quote-only gating. Pick the band that fits your traffic; we’ll size the contract on a twenty-minute call.

The Four Tiers

Each tier is sized to the traffic it has to absorb.

Listed rates are platform-only. Onboarding, migration from your incumbent moderation stack, and dedicated Trust & Safety consulting are quoted against a scoped statement of work after the demo.

Q&A sidebar

Pricing, plainly answered.

  1. How long are the contracts, and what happens at renewal?

Annual terms by default. Outpost and Garrison can run month-to-month at a fifteen-percent uplift if your editorial calendar is too uncertain to commit to a year. Citadel and Fortress are annual, with a thirty-day mutual exit window that we have never had a customer use.

  2. What happens when a tier’s monthly comment ceiling is exceeded?

We do not cut you off mid-month. Comment Castle keeps moderating and writes up the overage at the contracted per-thousand rate from your order form. If you cross the ceiling two months running, we reach out and right-size the tier — the new contract is back-dated to month one of the overage.

  3. How do you migrate us off Disqus, Coral, or WordPress pre-moderation?

Migration is run by a named engineer and a former community manager, and it is included for Garrison, Citadel, and Fortress. For Outpost, it is a fixed-fee add-on quoted against the volume of comments being re-scored. We have published a long-form migration playbook in the Resources section for teams who want to read the playbook before the call.

  4. What data was Toxicity Score v3 trained on, and can we audit it?

Score v3 was trained on 41 million labeled comment samples, drawn from a mix of licensed newsroom corpora, synthetic adversarial prompts, and customer-donated retro-labels. Enterprise customers on Citadel and Fortress can audit the label taxonomy and request an exclusion window on their own historical comments.

  5. Can we get custom enterprise pricing for a network with unusual volume or multi-region requirements?

Yes. Fortress is the named tier for that conversation, and we publish the floor pricing rather than hiding it. Anything above fifty million monthly comments, or anything that requires a private VPC, a non-US data residency, or a custom SLA, is scoped against a written statement of work after the demo.

Closing

Book the demo, see it on your own comments in twenty minutes.

A solutions engineer will load a representative slice of your comment section into a private sandbox, run it through the tier you’ve shortlisted, and show you the queue your editorial team will actually work in. No slide deck, no recorded walkthrough.
